Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Duplication and Replication?
Duplication and Replication are two methods of copying your CD, DVD, or Blu-ray discs. Duplication is done using a duplication machine and recordable discs. It is suitable for small jobs (up to approximately 1000 copies) as it has lower setup costs. Replication is done using a Glass Master which stamps the data onto the CD. It has higher setup costs and turnaround time is longer, however this method has cost benefits when many copies are required (usually over 500 discs). What is the turnaround time?
Turnaround time is 10 – 15 working days. This starts from the date the artwork and master are received and approved.

We do not offer accounts for replicated orders. Are returns accepted?
Returns are accepted if there is a fault with the product or print. However, as each product is customised and cannot be resold, we are unable to accept returns if you change your mind or no fault is present.
There is an area of overlap where both Duplication and Replication can be used, typically when copying between 500 and 1000 discs. The decision to use one or the other method at these quantities will be driven not by price, but by secondary advantages/disadvantages of each method, which is usually the turnaround time.
In summary, Duplication has fast turnaround time, and is suitable for upto 1000 disc copies. Replication has slower turnaround times, and is suitable for at least 500 copies.
Here at Replication Centre we provide Replication services. For Duplication service and an instant online quote please see our sister company Duplication Centre Ltd.

CDs and DVDs should have solid artwork in the middle, in other words, please do not have the hole showing on your artwork. Typically we print the discs with a white under the artwork. Should you require printing to the natural silver finish of the disc you will need to inform us specifically.
